Before you pay

What counts as a device?
A Mac that has signed in and been approved. Two can be active at once. When a third one asks, you deactivate one of the others from your account page, then approve the new one.
Do I need a card for the trial?
No. The 14-day trial starts the first time you approve a device. Buy at any point during or after it; nothing is charged until you do.
What happens when the trial ends?
Nothing is charged and nothing is deleted. Your config, plugins, and transcripts are files on your Mac and stay there. Buy from your account page to keep using kcode.
Which models can I use?
Any provider you have a key for, plus OpenAI's subscription models if you sign in with ChatGPT Pro or Plus. kcode ships with no bundled model access; you bring the providers you already pay.
Does it run Claude Code or Codex?
No. kcode is the agent. It talks to Anthropic, OpenAI, and the rest directly, with your keys or your ChatGPT sign-in. There is nothing else to install.
Where does my code run?
On your Mac. Prompts and files go to the provider you chose; kcode.sh never sees them. The privacy page lists what leaves the machine.
Is kcode open source?
No. The app is closed source. Everything you extend it with is plain files you own: Lua, TOML, and Markdown in your home folder or your project.
Why pay when other agent apps are free?
kcode is professional software for professionals, built and supported as a job rather than a volunteer project. The fee pays for the app, not for tokens: no cut of your model spend, and no model access you did not choose.
How do I cancel?
From your account page, open Manage billing. Canceling keeps access until the end of the paid period.

Ask within 14 days of a charge and we refund it. The refund policy has the details.
